NCD Alliance: Goals4Health supported the NCD Alliance´s strategy development on integrating noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) into global health priorities (GHI) such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and TB, reproductive, maternal and child health, UHC, climate change and health, and tackling humanitarian crises. We drafted a health financing Policy Thought Paper on health financing for integrating NCDs into global health priorities, focusing on UHC. Union for International Cancer Control/Access to Oncology Medicines Coalition (UICC/ATOM): Goals4Health serves as health financing advisor to the ATOM Coalition and is part of the core ATOM Coalition Country Engagement team. Our advisory focuses on working with the designated ATOM Coalition partners to undertake policy diagnosis and identify policies and programs for integrating the financing of oncology medicines and diagnostics into UHC. Our health financing work with Thinkwell focuses on Mongolia and Zambia. 

 

Goals4Health supported United for Global Mental Health in developing a Policy Brief on integrating mental health programs with NCD programs at the primary healthcare level. The Policy Review focused on reviewing global evidence on integration models and included recommendations for the global health community on health financing and service delivery reforms.


In India, Goals4Health works with social enterprises, patient organizations, and policy think tanks on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, with a focus on neurological conditions and mental health. Our India partners include: (i) Ikure, Kolkata, India: iKure is a For-Profit Social Enterprise headquartered in India that provides Accessible, Affordable & Quality Primary Healthcare through Technology, Integrated Devices & Innovative approach to the population residing beyond the Tier-I cities.  (ii) Alzheimer´s and Associated Disorders Society of India (ARDSI) – Calcutta Chapter.

 

Goals4Health is an external expert with the Center for Global Health, School of Medicine and Health, Technical University, Munich, on building a global brain health program in LMICs, working with other Universities, NGOs, civil society organizations and think tanks. Sarbani Chakraborty co-founded the Global Brain Health Partnership with the Harvard Program in Global Surgery and Social Change. This Partnership is working with regional and country representatives in LMICs to advance brain health equity, focusing on closing the evidence-practice gap in brain health interventions, building off the WHO Intersectoral Global Action Plan for Neurological Disorders and Elipepsy 2022 – 2031.

In Zambia, we are working with The Purple Glow Foundation, representing people with epilepsy (PLWE). We are working to advance innovative service delivery models to improve the epilepsy treatment gap in rural areas, leveraging Community Health Volunteers (CBVs) as patient navigators for epilepsy screening and management. Goals4Health is working with the Foundation to advance the financing, implementation, and deployment of digital tools such as the Seizure Assistant app.
